About the role
We’re looking for an IT Application Specialist to come and join the team at our Paper Mill in Kemsley. Working closely with the IT Manager, you will provide support and a proactive service to various teams on site, constantly identifying and analysing opportunities for us to develop our existing tools.
You will act as a focal point within the department, collaborating with other IT teams and colleagues on changes and updates, while identifying, evaluating and implementing specific technologies that will support the business plans. We will need you to work with key stakeholders and management to create a roadmap for production and maintenance of applications so that we can achieve the strategic vision that defines the people, processes, tools and technology involved in the complete service solution.
You will also be expected to assist with preparation of budgets for IT systems and services, keep up to date with new developments and trends in application integration in the manufacturing industry, and get involved with various projects as they progress on site.
* SQL Server experience
* Database administration experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong understanding of basic system engineering, IT services, information risk and security guidelines, and architecture standards
* Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
* An understanding of our business and how various projects depend on each other
